Over 1 billion people worldwide - including 300 million who cannot afford shoes at all - lack proper shoes, directly contributing to diseases such as Podoconiosis and Hookwork disease.

Impact on Childhood Education
Over 300 million children worldwide cannot attend school because lacking footwear exposes them to injuries and soil‑transmitted diseases, often preventing attendance due to uniform rules or dangerous walking conditions.

People infected with Hookworm Disease
Between 406 and 480 million people - mostly in the poorest tropical and subtropical regions of Sub‑Saharan Africa, Asia, and Central and South America - are infected with hookworms, a nematode parasite transmitted through infested soil.

About 4 million people across 17 countries - mostly in Africa, Latin America and Asia - suffer from this non‑infectious disease caused by microscopic particles of mineral‑rich volcanic red clay soil entering tiny cracks in bare feet and destroying the lymphatic system, leading to severe lower‑leg swelling (elephantiasis).

Our Inspiration
"Every day around the world, there are people who have to walk barefoot for miles just to get to school or get water for their families. This showed us that shoes, something so simple that most people take for granted, can make such a difference in people's lives. It can help prevent podoconiosis and hookworm disease while generally improving health. We started this nonprofit to give these people a chance for a healthier, better life."
