Hookworm Disease

The hookworm disease comes from a painful parasitic worm that enters through your foot and travels to your intestines. It can stay there for years causing excruciating pain and may even lead to malnutrition and effects on mental and physical growth. Hookworm disease is a life changing disease that can stunt growth mentally and physically in children and can start reproducing throughout your body. People with this parasite that don’t get surgical help, may end up carrying hookworm larvae that can grow inside the body, and eventually travel through other body systems to get to the lungs. Our focus is to prevent the spread of hookworm disease and stop hookworm cases from increasing.
